I love this shot, how it is not in any way overdone, and yet does so much. there is great colour, great light, but not some extreme orange cliché sunset. the mountains are beautiful but rather than being forced on us, they are of in the distance, complementing rather than making the shot.
their is but one small remark I have, the river is cut of by the side of the frame, which is kind of awkward. it might have been better coming either completely from the side or, even better, from the bottom of the image. though it is of course easy to judge such things when I wasn't their when it was shot.
It's amazing I got this shot at all. When we arrived in the basin just shortly before sunset there were no clouds present at all. I rushed about anyway looking for the best composition of the stream when all of a sudden these clouds spilled over the mountains to the right. Catching the last glow of color before they quickly moved out of site and the show was over.
