brilliant shot....it's a shame about the bushes but hey we all have to compromise sometimes...is it sunrise or sunset?

When I can't afford to travel, I love photos like this to let me feel like I'm standing on a snowy peak, looking at the rising sun.

You do know that kind of reply is exactly what the "reply"-button under the avatar is there for?

You're welcome. I figured it was one of those little things deviantart hides in plain sight. It's often enough people just don't see it.

Thanks for the great comments so far everyone!

This is indeed a blend of 2 exposures (3 stops apart) put together in CS4. I was trying to find a way to compose the image without the rhodies in the lower left, but in order to keep the vast feel of the comp and include the great snow covered ledge I had to compromise.

Very nice Joe =D

Don't you use a shot from this location in one of your tutorials (albeit other time of year)?

Wow what a nice atmosphere you've catch here. I wonder if you used a Filter or made this from 2 pictures?

The depth of field and colors are amazing, the way you used the river in the valley to lead the viewers eye right into the sunset is excellent.

I think you could have left out the plants on the left hand bottom corner but that doesn't harm the overall quality
