Douglas Falls by joerossbach Douglas Falls by joerossbach
Douglas Falls on the North Fork of the Blackwater River, Monongahela National Forest, West Virginia.

The red in the rocks is due to iron ore that has leaked from mine wells up stream. It is a reminder of the destruction and enviromental decay that took place (and continues to) in the Appalachian Mountains since the begining of the Industrial Revolution.

Very nice,

I love the contrast between the red rocks and juicy green leaves,

Unique take on the scene with the effects of humanity looking otherwise normal. Probably the least detrimental i'd hope than the current catastrophes going on. :/

Nice composition Joe, I enjoy the contrast between the green in the trees and the red in the rocks. Just right of the fall looks a little soft against the rock and trees, is this just from steam rising from the water? What kinda temperature is it here? Great job man!
