Winter on Shays Run by joerossbach Winter on Shays Run by joerossbach
I just returned from a couple of days following a snow storm in the mountains of West Virginia. This water along Shays Run is one of my favorite waterfall locations. I climbed and slid down the hill to get below the falls. In order to get this perspective, I had to climb into the freezing water.

it's the warmth of the rocks visible through the water at the centre which really balances this for me, the water and compo are of course great too, very nice job!

Ah, well done sir. Saw this on your 'before' 'after' example you did re: composition. Really enjoy the water falling over that stick and the texture it creates. Well done!

Lovely capture. Andreas is right, that branch breaking the water in the foreground really draws you in and adds interest. Some impressive icicles on the right too! :)

Very nice Joe. The shutter speed is spot on. Usually trunks like the one in the foreground are rather distracting but this one here results in some nice water action and serves as great lead-in to the scene.
