I just returned from a couple of days following a snow storm in the mountains of West Virginia. This water along Shays Run is one of my favorite waterfall locations. I climbed and slid down the hill to get below the falls. In order to get this perspective, I had to climb into the freezing water.
i love the colors

If you don't mind me saying it, your images are always infuriatingly wonderful. I'm trying hard to pick my very favorite of your submissions and always end up faving all of them! Keep doing it!
We appreciate your sacrifice! It's absolutely, beautifully composed.
Absolutely stunning. I love shooting water.
Great shot. Perfect perspective... hope it wasn't very far to warmth!
it's the warmth of the rocks visible through the water at the centre which really balances this for me, the water and compo are of course great too, very nice job!
Ah, well done sir. Saw this on your 'before' 'after' example you did re: composition. Really enjoy the water falling over that stick and the texture it creates. Well done!
you got it just right Joe. Spot on!
you were right in your photo tips about how this image is more powerful than the other composition..with that said, well done once again
Very nice photo
Great composition using the surrounding rocks, and branches.
Lovely capture. Andreas is right, that branch breaking the water in the foreground really draws you in and adds interest. Some impressive icicles on the right too!
Outstanding Joe!! Well worth the effort getting this image!
Very nice Joe. The shutter speed is spot on. Usually trunks like the one in the foreground are rather distracting but this one here results in some nice water action and serves as great lead-in to the scene.
